Into the New Winter Season with Investments Exceeding CZK 200 Million

SkiResort ČERNÁ HORA – PEC is ready for the 2025/26 winter season and is rolling out record investments to enhance the skiing experience. The investments target snowmaking, a new water storage reservoir, and new beginner teaching areas. One of them will be the Panorama Park at the top of Černá hora, right next to the upper station of the gondola, featuring a new LIVE teaching park and a sledding/toboggan track.

New Water Storage Reservoir

More open slopes on Černá hora right from the start of the season should be enabled by a new water storage reservoir worth CZK 150 million at the lower station of the Hofmanky Express six-seater chairlift.
An additional 15,000 m³ of water will augment the capacity of the resort’s two existing reservoirs. “The new reservoir will help us capitalize on the first cold spells so we can open more slopes right at the beginning of winter. It will also serve for in-season top-ups after short thaws. We’ll now be able to cover the slopes with snow faster, better, and with higher quality,” explains SkiResort ČERNÁ HORA – PEC CEO Jakub Janda.

The new reservoir is covered; its roof has been developed into a parking area for about 70 cars. After a year-long construction break, parking capacity at the Hofmanky Express base returns to its original level.

New Snow Guns

Across the areas on Černá hora and in Pec, selected slopes have been equipped with 31 new high-performance snow guns and snow lances worth more than CZK 35 million. “Thanks to snow guns on fixed towers and powerful lances, we’ll be able to snow more efficiently on popular runs such as Protěž and Hofmanky on Černá hora, as well as Hnědý vrch and Zahrádky in Pec pod Sněžkou. We are also strengthening the snowmaking system in the Velká Úpa and Černý Důl areas.”

Panorama Park on Černá hora

Just a short walk from the upper station of the ČERNOHORSKÝ EXPRESS gondola at 1,260 m a.s.l., SkiResort ČERNÁ HORA – PEC will open the brand-new Panorama Park. With investments exceeding CZK 20 million, it will offer a unique space focused on children, beginners, and families who want to enjoy a day in the snow—even without skis.

Its centerpiece will be a 150-meter-long, record-wide (120 cm) covered moving carpet—the only one of its kind in the Czech Republic. It will be used primarily by young skiers in the LIVE teaching park under the guidance of SkiResort Live instructors, but it will also welcome parents who want to stay right on the slope with their kids. Thanks to the extra-wide belt, an adult can ride side by side, hold a child’s hand, and safely teach those first turns—or simply enjoy winter together on sleds and bobs.

The slopes below the former Sokolská bouda are among the most popular with beginners. Thanks to the elevation, snow lasts longest here. The winter views are stunning and when there’s an inversion in the valley, it’s sunny up here. The Panorama Park will be just steps from the gondola’s top station, where we have excellent family facilities—a kids’ corner, restaurant, accessible restrooms, and a microwave for warming baby food. Since the gondola easily transports strollers, Panorama Park—with its activities and relaxation zone—can become a go-to outing spot for parents with small children, whether they want to try first ski turns or simply play in the snow,” adds Jakub Janda.

LIVE Park “Kabinka” at the Gondola Base in Janské Lázně

A new teaching area will also be created—especially at the start and end of winter—next to the lower station of the gondola. This expands the options for where to begin skiing, and the LIVE park will be ideally located right beside the large central parking lot.

About SkiResort in winter

SkiResort ČERNÁ HORA – PEC offers skiing in 6 areas on 1 skipass, with more than 50 km of slopes. Free ski buses will once again run between five of the areas this season. Černá hora and Pec pod Sněžkou will be connected by the SkiTour traverse, where skiers are towed along flat sections by SkiTour snowcats and ski between them on snow-covered trails. This year, we plan to introduce an electric snowcat—“e-SkiTour”—as a pilot project.
In the 2025/26 season, SkiResort ČERNÁ HORA – PEC will offer a total of 7 open LIVE teaching parks in the areas, always right next to the main slopes. Each park features an equipment rental with the latest gear from Atomic and Salomon, as well as a SkiResort Live ski school office.
Most skipass prices in the coming season will increase only by the rate of inflation; selected products will see up to a 10% rise. Season passes will remain at last year’s prices. Skiers can save up to 30% by purchasing skipasses in advance and online at skiresort.cz.

Activities After Skiing

After a day on the slopes, SkiResort ČERNÁ HORA – PEC offers plenty to do: the 4 km Černohorská sledding trail, the evening “Magic Ride” on the illuminated bobsleigh track, evening sledding by the lit moving carpet on Javor in Pec, night skiing in three areas, groomed cross-country trails, and snowtubing.

Dozens of Events for Families and Avid Skiers All Winter

Beyond the new Panorama Park, visitors can look forward to a rich program of events throughout the season across the resort. The season traditionally kicks off with lighting the “Magic Ride” on the bobsleigh track in Pec pod Sněžkou, illuminated every evening through winter. From the Christmas holidays, there will also be a weekly Friday evening kids’ animation program by the moving carpet on Javor in Pec, creating a magical snowy atmosphere for the youngest guests.

The headline winter event will be the Action Show on February 6, 2026, featuring a unique light show, a snowcat “dance,” night demo rides by instructors, and interactive segments for the public.

There will also be the Ice Adventure by the Crêpec café, regular music evenings at Bull Bar, and—new this year—DJ sets at the Ford Bar every Saturday and Sunday after Christmas.

Adding to the atmosphere, the Snowlicious snowcat will roam the resort—most often around the former Sokolská bouda—serving stylish refreshments with a distinctive visual flair.
Follow the current program on our website and add events to your calendar so you don’t miss a thing!

If snow conditions allow, we plan to open the season on Černá hora on November 28, 2025, and in Pec pod Sněžkou on December 6, 2025.
