Around Černá hora

When you arrive in Janské Lázně, you will immediately notice it. Rising above the town, Černá hora is one of the dominant landmarks of the Krkonoše Mountains. Thanks to the Černohorský Express gondola, you can reach the mountain summit within minutes and start one of several beautiful hiking routes.

To Pec pod Sněžkou

This relatively easy hike offers fantastic views on clear days. To save energy, take the gondola from Janské Lázně to Černá hora and start your walk from the mountain top.

Follow the yellow trail past Černá Bouda to the Václavák junction, then continue along the red trail past Kolínská Bouda and Pražská Bouda. Both mountain lodges are excellent places for a break. Continue via Husova Bouda and descend to Pec pod Sněžkou.

You can return to Janské Lázně by bus.

For the Best Views

This route takes you to some of the most beautiful viewpoints around Černá hora.

Start from the lower gondola station and follow the blue trail to Zrcadlovky, then the yellow trail up to Černá hora. After a short break, continue towards Nad Pardubickými boudami and follow the green trail to Pardubické Boudy and Nad Modrými kameny.

A short detour leads to the Modré kameny viewpoint, offering spectacular views over the foothills of the Krkonoše Mountains. Return via Modrokamenná Bouda and the blue trail back to Janské Lázně.

 Across the Ridges to Sněžka

This is a more demanding full-day mountain hike, taking you through some of the most beautiful landscapes in the Krkonoše Mountains.

From Černá hora follow the red trail via Liščí hora, Chalupa na Rozcestí and Výrovka to Luční Bouda. Along the way you will experience the unique mountain tundra and panoramic ridge views.

From Luční Bouda continue on the blue trail to Obří Sedlo and then climb the final section on the red trail to Sněžka (1,603 m), the highest mountain in the Czech Republic.

Descend via Růžohorky and continue to Pec pod Sněžkou. If your car is parked in Janské Lázně, you can easily return by bus.
