Janské Lázně and Černá hora

Janské Lázně is the perfect starting point for a family day in the Krkonoše Mountains. Park at the P1 car park next to the lower station of the Černohorský Express gondola lift and reach Černá hora in just a few minutes. Right next to the upper station, you'll find the Kabinka Children's Park and the starting point for further family activities.

Depending on your schedule and mood, continue to the Černohorské Peat Bog and Panorama Lookout Tower, visit the Treetop Walk, or return to Janské Lázně on foot or by mountain scooter. Everything can be done without long transfers and can easily be adapted to the age of your children, the weather, and the time available.
 


Černohorský Express Gondola Lift and Kabinka Children's Park

The trip begins with the cable car ride itself. The Černohorský Express takes you from Janské Lázně to Černá hora while offering beautiful views of the surrounding valleys. At the upper station, you will find the Kabinka Children's Park with six attractions. It is a great first stop after arriving at the summit or a place to relax before continuing your trip.

Dogs, bicycles, and strollers are transported free of charge.

Mountain Scooters from Černá hora

From the summit of Černá hora, you can continue on mountain scooters. A popular family route leads towards the Treetop Walk and then back to Janské Lázně. More active families can choose a longer route via Modré kameny and the Na Formánkách Mountain Inn with mini golf and a trampoline.

Tip: The best value option is the cable car + scooter package. Ask about it at the SkiResort Live rental shop.

Treetop Walk and Bear Trail

The Treetop Walk and Bear Trail belong among the best family trips in the Krkonoše Mountains. Enjoy a walk among the treetops, beautiful views of the landscape, and meet live bears Alice and Michal.

The Treetop Walk also features play elements, suspended nets, and a popular slide. The fun continues in Emil's Forest World, where children can enjoy climbing structures, additional play features, and a small petting zoo. Finish your trip with refreshments available directly on site.

Velká Úpa and Portášky

Portášky are ideal for families looking for quieter activities for children in the Krkonoše Mountains. Park in Velká Úpa at car parks P5 or P6 and take the Portášky chairlift directly to the Pecka Play Landscape. You'll enjoy fewer crowds, a relaxing chairlift ride, attractions right next to the upper station and an alternative route to Sněžka.


Pecka Play Landscape and the marble game

You can easily reach the Pecka Play Landscape by taking the Portášky chairlift from Velká Úpa. At the upper station, you'll find a large natural playground with life-sized wooden models of Krkonoše animals, climbing structures, slides and obstacles.

The experience is completed by the wooden Pecka marble, which children can use on the interactive elements and marble tracks. It's not just a souvenir but part of exploring the entire play landscape.

Tip:  You can buy the wooden Pecka marble after getting off the chairlift at the rental shop or from the vending machine near the upper station.

A trip to Sněžka without long queues

From Portášky, you can continue on foot via Růžohorky to Sněžka. This route is quieter than the main route from Pec pod Sněžkou and offers beautiful views and several stops along the way. The final section with stone steps is more demanding, making it suitable mainly for families with older and more active children.

Tip: Along the way, you can stop at Děčínská Bouda or visit the mountain farm at Růžohorky.

Ride a mountain scooter to Pec pod Sněžkou or Velká Úpa

You can make your return journey more exciting by renting a mountain scooter from SkiResort Live. The routes lead through beautiful mountain scenery and are suitable even for active families with children. You can return the scooter at the Relaxpark bobsleigh track in Pec pod Sněžkou or at the lower chairlift station in Velká Úpa.

Pec pod Sněžkou

Pec pod Sněžkou is one of the most popular family destinations in the Krkonoše Mountains. Choose your parking according to your daily plans – at the transport terminal, near Relaxpark or at one of the currently available car parks.

In the morning, take the chairlift to Hnědý vrch and visit the highest lookout tower in the Krkonoše Mountains with beautiful views of Sněžka. In the afternoon, continue to the Relaxpark bobsleigh track, Lemurie children's park or Monkey Park by the reservoir.

The chairlift takes you to Hnědý vrch at an altitude of 1,207 metres, where you'll find the highest lookout tower in the Krkonoše Mountains. From the top, you'll enjoy beautiful views of Sněžka, Pec pod Sněžkou and the surrounding mountain ridges.

On your way back, you can follow the comfortable asphalt path or choose a more natural route through Vlčí jámy around the waterfall.

Relaxpark bobsleigh track, Lemurie children's park and pancake café

The bobsleigh track in Pec pod Sněžkou is one of the most popular family attractions in the Krkonoše Mountains. It is almost 900 metres long, and part of the track runs up to 8 metres above the ground. Right next to it, you'll find Lemurie children's park with trampolines and giant slides. Afterwards, relax at CrêPec, where freshly prepared pancakes and coffee await you.

Tip: Buy a package of 6 or 10 rides online and get 1 extra ride for free.

Monkey Park rope centre and the reservoir

Monkey Park is located by the reservoir in Pec pod Sněžkou. It features two rope courses and a 70-metre zip line across the water. Thanks to its waterside location, it has a pleasant summer atmosphere and is suitable for children and adults looking for a bit of adventure.
